I think that maybe David Duchovny had something to do with this decision to end Californication. I don't know but as I am a huge, huge, huge fan of X-Files, I grew up with Mulder and Scully. I credit that show for making me the person that I am today. But I have to say that I think that show pushed it beyond the expiration date. They should have ended it after season 7. Maybe David doesn't want to see the same thing happen to Californication.
I guess it might be one of the reasons but I have no idea why they decided to end up the show. I hope we’ll know more about it within the next weeks!
I don't know why they are ending the show but I'm glad that they are. So many TV shows go so far and the story gets old and repetitive. People grow tired of the same old crap. And then the writers start trying to come up with new story lines like someone gets pregnant or someone dies. It's all an attempt to keep the show fresh. So many shows have tried to carry on beyond their expiration date. I think it's a good idea to end the story while it's still fresh and original.
You’re right, and to be honest when I saw the season 5 I wish they ended it before. But I (surprisely) liked the last season, so I’m a little bit torn haha. I prefer to avoid any disappointment with a show like that though. I’d love it to be awesome from the beginning to the last second!
"We want to let you know that the upcoming season of Californication will be the final season. Thank you for your love and support over the last six years! Hank’s final fling will begin this April.”
